For early flowers either sow indoors in early spring - March to April or August to September the previous year on moist compost in trays, modules or pots.
Lightly cover the seeds with compost or vermiculite.

Once germination has started move from the propagator or bag and place in a well lit area in cooler conditions.
Once the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7 - 10 cm pots and grow on in cool frost free well lit conditions.
Plant out in mid spring when all risk of severe frost has passed. Harden off over 7 - 10 days so that the young plants can acclimatise to the outdoor temperatures slowly.
In March to May, direct sow into rows 20 - 30 cm apart in a well prepared seed bed where the flowers are to grow. The soil should be a fine tilth.
Cover the seeds with soil and water well.
When the seedlings are large enough to handle thin out to 20 - 30 cm apart.
Water well until established.
