Roulette F2 is an excellent nicotiana dwarf variety producing a wide range of shades from red, white and pink flowers. The trumpet shaped, upward facing flowers when grown in groups make a superb display in the summer beds, borders and containers. This variety has a good tolerance to wet weather.

Soil Preperation

To help with moisture retention and fertility add a good amount of well rotted manure or compost to the soil. If the soil is a heavy clay add some gritty sand to help with drainage. Remove weeds from the area.

Sowing Guide

Early Sowing/Module Sowing

Lightly sprinkle the seeds onto the surface of moist compost in trays, modules or pots.
Do not cover the seeds as they need light to germinate.
Place the container in a propagator or a clear plastic bag and seal. Germinate at the temperature suggested above and DO NOT exclude light, however avoid direct hot sun.
Once germination has started remove from the propagator or bag and place in an area with a cooler temperature but not cold. Protect from frost and direct hot sun.
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5 cm pots.
Grow on in frost free conditions in a greenhouse or cold frame.
When all risk of frost has passed, and the plants are growing strong, plant out at the distance suggested above.
Harden off over 7 - 10 days before planting out.

Direct Sowing

For best results start the plants indoors.

Growing On

Water young nicotiana plants well until established.
Dead-head fading flowers to encourage more flowers to grow.
If the flowers are picked regularly this will also encourage more blooms.
Throughout the growing season feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks.
Water established plants well in dry conditions.

Contact with foliage may irritate skin.
